The Department of Emergency Medicine is proud of its long affiliation with four well-respected community hospitals in the City of Baltimore. In addition to providing patient care at the University of Maryland Medical Center, for the past 15 years, we have touched the lives of Baltimore's citizens by meeting their emergency healthcare needs at:

Our faculty now provides care of the highest quality to over 182,000 patients annually.Each of these additions has brought more than just clinical activity for our residents and medical students. The Veteran’s Administration and Mercy Medical Center are essential components in resident education, each adding clinical and systematic experience in settings that residency graduates may see in their professional lives but otherwise would not necessarily see in their training.

Maryland General Hospital, a more recent addition to the family, provides additional resources for clinical and educational efforts. By increasing the clinical activity of the Department, the benefits of expansion to the educational and research goals of the Department have always been a central consideration.
