Mercy Medical Center is a 130+ year old, Catholic health care facility and teaching hospital for the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Located at 301 St. Paul Place, Mercy is part of Mercy Health Services, Inc., which also includes Stella Maris, Central Maryland's largest long-term/geriatric care facility located in Timonium, MD, as well as a network of community health centers. Mercy is also now home to the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Center at 227 St. Paul Place.
Mercy serves as the primary community ED clinical site for rotating residents. The hospital is located downtown in close proximity to the inner harbor. The patient demographic mix is varied as are their presenting complaints. A large number of presenting patients are followed by private primary care physicians. The facility has been newly renovated and boasts many high tech capabilities and conveniences. Computers are located in all patient rooms, as well as designated physician 'pods'. The white board patient tracking system has been replaced with ten 35" plasma screens that provide information at a glance from anywhere in the emergency department. Radiology and laboratory services are readily accessible and turnaround times are relatively fast. Like UMMS, this facility is equipped with two ultrasound machines and fiberoptic laryngoscopy equipment.

Directions

I-95 from the North: Take I-95 heading south through the Ft. McHenry Tunnel. Continue through the tunnel to 395/Exit 53 (Downtown Inner Harbor). Turn right on Conway St. Once on Conway St. stay to the left. Go up three traffic lights to Light St. Turn left on Light St. Go up nine traffic lights (Light St. turns into Calvert St.). Turn left onto Pleasant St. Turn right into the parking garage. From the parking garage take the elevators to level 3 and cross the all weather bridge to get to the Main Lobby.

I-95 from the South: Take I-95 heading north to 395/exit 53 (Downtown Inner Harbor). I-295 from the South: Take I-295 heading north which turns into Russell St. Turn right on Pratt St. and get in left lane. Turn left onto Calvert St. Turn left on Pleasant St. (the seventh traffic light) and then turn into the parking garage on the right. From the parking garage take the elevators to level 3 and cross the all weather bridge to get to the Main Lobby.

I-83 from the North (Jones Falls Expressway): Take I-83 heading south to Exit 2 (Pleasant St.), which exits from the left. Turn right onto Pleasant St. After crossing Guilford and Calvert Streets turn right into the parking garage. From the parking garage take the elevators to level 3 and cross the all weather bridge to get to the Main Lobby.

The Pleasant Street Garage is attached to Mercy's Main Lobby and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Hourly fees apply. Valet parking is available at the front entrance of the hospital on the corner of Pleasant Street and St. Paul Place for a fee.
