*The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland School
of Medicine is pleased to announce the first CME course to focus discussion
on the controversial topic of Procedural Sedation performed with propofol
and other agents.

This one-day conference is designed for the practicing emergency physician
and emergency nurses. Particular focus will be in utilizing propofol and
other agents as well as developing a procedural sedation program at your
hospital.

*Objectives
*At the conclusion of this conference, the participants should be able to:

   1. Describe the shift away from fentanyl / midazolam to the new standard
   of care for procedural sedation - propofol and other agents.
   2. Review the most recent evidence and describe the new advances in
   performing procedural sedation.
   3. Describe how to properly implement a procedural sedation program in
   your institution from the political obstacles in the hospital and state
   administrations to passing a JCAHO survey.

Introduction to Emergency Ultrasound Course sponsered by the Univerisity of
Maryland School of Medicine and presented by the Department of Emergency
Medicine. Courses are available *February 04, 2010 through February 05, 2010
and **May 06, 2010 through May 07, 2010.****
