Maite Huis in 't Veld is an assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and an attending emergency physician at Bon Secours hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. 



 



Maite earned her medical degree at the Universiteit Utrecht, in Utrecht, the Netherlands, where she was born and raised. She moved to Baltimore for residency training at the University of Maryland Emergency Medicine program, where she was a chief resident. She completed the Cardiovascular Emergencies Fellowship at University of Maryland, where she had the unique opportunity to work and train alongside cardiologists to become an expert in cardiovascular emergencies and echocardiography. She loves to teach and has a passion for research. She has a special interest in OneHealth and transgender health emergencies. In her free time she loves to run, do yoga, and all things food.
