A Little About Me

Hey! Thank you for checking out UMaryland! I chose this EM program because of all the opportunities that it has to offer: amazing EM didactics, outstanding faculty & mentors, cadaver labs, and the diverse training locations and patient population. And most importantly, I love my intern class! I'm training alongside amazing interns and residents who are passionate, smart, hardworking, adventurous, and fun.

I little about me: I was born and raised in Texas along the Mexico-Texas border. I went to college at Notre Dame and then spent a few years working on projects in Guatemala, Mexico, Colombia, and Spain before going back to grad school. I went to policy graduate school in the great city of Austin to study health care and international policy and went to medical school in Houston.

I had never been to Baltimore until I interviewed for residency. These are a few of my favorite things about Baltimore:
* Running to Fort McHenry. Such a gorgeous run! There are lots of great running trails and free running groups.
* First Thursdays in Mt. Vernon Square during the summer (Food trucks, beer, and live music. Reminds me of Austin!)
* Baltimore Bike Party (I try to ride my bike as much as possible and BBP is a great crowd.)
* Outdoor festivals (Artscape, Baltimore Book Festival, and more)
* Lots of great Farmer's Market spots
* Dog friendly city (If you need any advice on anything dog related, let me know.)

I would be happy to answer any other questions you might have about our program, emergency medicine, living in Baltimore, or anything else! I'd also be happy to host any interviewees (as long as you don't mind my dog or sleeping on a couch). I live about 1 mile from the hospital. Shoot me an email!
