Academic Activities and Responsibilities

I was born in Maryland and although I?ve traveled to France, Switzerland, Italy, Rome, Greece and 20 of the United States, Baltimore has always been home to me. If I were to take out a personal ad it would be titled ?Must Love Baltimore? because I certainly do. As much as I love Baltimore, I was prepared to cut the umbilical cord of my friends and family and move to my second favorite city (Chicago) for Internal Medicine residency but a funny thing happened. I met Amal Mattu one day in November during my 4th year of medical school and my life has never been the same. He introduced me to the EM/IM program here at Maryland and I fell in love with the program. I can not imagine being happier doing anything else, anywhere else. The University of Maryland is an amazing place that you have to visit to truly understand!

After residency, I hope to work part time as a hospitalist and part time in the Emergency Department. I did 3 years of molecular cell biology research in the department of pulmonary and critical care before medical school and I?m still looking to tie that into clinical research, but I have the next 4 years to work on that. In the meantime, I will continue playing lacrosse, skiing (both downhill and water), boating, running, and watching football.
