I was born in Rostov-on-Don, a city in the southwest part of Russia. I grew up going to the Black Sea every summer and have retained a love for water and water sports to this day. During the first two years of medical school, I thought I would be a surgeon. However, in the middle of my third year I discovered EM and fell in love. I think that EM incorporates the perfect combination of procedural work and diagnostic reasoning. I did the fourth year rotation at University of Maryland and really liked the department. I think that the faculty is great and the conferences are simply the best around. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
