Academic Activities and Responsibilities

Hi everyone! I'm glad you are here checking out our EM website and all the fantastic residents and faculty profiles.

A little about me: I grew up in southern New Jersey (you know, the nice part with The Shore). I went to Rutgers University for college and majored in Engineering. After graduating, I moved to Philadelphia and spent some time working in a research lab and completing a post-bacc program at University of Pennsylvania. I went to medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philly. Along the way I got married to my amazing wife Christina and in the 3rd year of med school we had our daughter Sydney. When deciding to move to Maryland we chose to live just 20 min south of Baltimore in Columbia, MD. It provides the suburban environment for my daughter while being close enough that I can still easily come into the city for work or fun. If you are considering living outside of the city and have any questions please feel free to contact me.

I chose the University of Maryland for EM training because of the amazing faculty and training that is available here. On my interview day I was blown away by the lectures and the innovative curriculum that has been implemented here. There is a real emphasis on teaching the most current information from cutting edge research. The faculty members are always striving to update and improve their lectures and teaching style. They offer constant opportunities for residents to get involved in any type of education or research activity that you could imagine! If you choose to join us for your training, I can say without a doubt you will get world class training in every aspect of EM.

If you have any questions about the program, the area, or anything in general please feel free to email me. I also have a spare bedroom that is available for applicants if you want to save a little money on the interview trail.
