I was born in Ft. Lauderdale, but I was raised an army brat so I spent my first 15 years of life moving from Florida to Saudi Arabia to Florida (again) to California & finally to Georgia. From the day I moved to Georgia, I had every intention of leaving quickly but somehow ended up staying for 11 years, just long enough for me to pick up a bit of a southern accent. I went to University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!!!) for four fabulous years, majoring in microbiology and psychology, then to Medical College of Georgia for medical school.
I spent a majority of my 3rd & 4th year of medical school trying to decide between Emergency Medicine & Pediatrics. In the end, I was ecstatic to not have to give up training in either field. I will miss returning to Athens on Saturday mornings in the fall to watch the Dawgs play, but I absolutely adore Baltimore. My dog Cody & I have plenty of places to run here (one of our favorite pastimes) and have even found places to go out to dinner together. We are both adjusting nicely to city life. University of Maryland is a great place to train and I would love to answer any questions interested applicants have about the program!
