I was born and raised in New Jersey. I left for four short years to attend College in upstate New York at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). While there, I became interested in EMS and Emergency Medicine, and so became an EMT to see what it was all about. After graduating I worked as a Full-Time EMT for the City of Rochester, which I very much enjoyed, and so I applied and was later accepted to New Jersey Medical School (Newark Campus). There, I met my beautiful wife Amy, and four years later we couples matched at our top choice at the University of Maryland.
Now having been here for several years, I can honestly say that U. Maryland offers exceptional training in both Emergency and Internal Medicine. In fact, I would say it has exceeded my expectations. Although maybe a biased opinion, I think U. Maryland has the best EM/IM program in the country.
I plan on staying for the 6th additional year to complete the optional Critical Care Fellowship year in which I hope to further develop an area of research. Overall, I hope to work as both an Intensivist as well as Emergency Room Physician in an academic setting. We'll see what the future holds....
