I grew up on Long Island, NY and lived in Manhattan since 2002 where I attended college and medical school at NYU. Being a real city girl, it was tough for me to leave my life in New York but I decided to come to UMMC because I felt that here I would get the best combined training in Emergency and Internal Medicine. Our Emergency Department focuses on teaching through an innovative literature-based curriculum and attracts residents who plan to contribute the development of the field. Our faculty is top notch, but also friendly and approachable. Being located in downtown Baltimore gives us great exposure to a wide range of pathology and allows us to work with an underserved patient population. That being said our department is clean and efficient thanks to our superb nursing staff. UMMC's critical care program was also a huge draw to me as I am planning to pursue the combined EM/IM/CC track.
In my free time, I enjoy running, downhill skiing, yoga, camping, and boating. I am always up for an adventure and have lived for brief periods of time in London, Paris, Southeast Asia, India, and Ghana...if anyone is interested in travelling I'm pretty much always ready to hop on a plane. As a city, Baltimore has far exceeded my expectations. There are tons of unique neighborhoods, restaurants, and bars to explore. I live right on the water in Harbor East and get to go running on the docks and enjoy the beautiful harbor every day. The residents at UMMC are a very friendly and social group and have welcomed me with open arms. We are constantly getting together outside the hospital for dinner, drinks, sporting events, etc. I am very close with my parents and three siblings and despite a busy summer starting out on the Internal Medicine side, have found time to see them several times. I would not be who I am today without my family's constant love and support.
