Several emergency medicine faculty members contributed to the article titled “The Impact of a Freestanding ED on a Regional Emergency Medical Services System,” published in the August issue of American Journal of Emergency Medicine. The authors report that the opening of the Shore Emergency Center in Queenstown on Maryland’s Eastern Shore decreased ambulance turnaround time and out-of-service intervals.
