Priapism - prolonged involuntary erection - is an adverse effect with some drugs. Here is a list of the more commonly reported:

  • Androgens
  • Anticoagulants
  • Antihypertensives: Hydralazaine, labetolol, phentolamine, prazosin
  • Antipsychotics
  • Cantharidin
  • Cocaine
  • Diazepam
  • Marijuana
  • Sildenafil
  • Trazadone
  • Yohimbine
