Objectives: 1. To highlight several practice-changing studies that have been published in the past 12-18 months with a focus on optimizing antibiotic stewardship. 2. To discuss antibiotic use in the context of socioeconomic and racial disparities and strategies for developing consistent practices. 3. To consider recent literature on serious adverse drug reactions from antibiotics when choosing a regimen.
