Objectives: Identify classic presentations, risk factors, and diagnostic criteria for common and life-threatening gastrointestinal conditions in both adult and pediatric populations. 1. Analyze laboratory and imaging results to differentiate between GI pathologies and guide clinical management, including recognizing key radiographic signs and laboratory abnormalities. 2. Outline initial and definitive management strategies for acute GI emergencies, including pharmacologic, procedural, and consultative interventions1. 3. Describe how factors such as housing instability, access to sterile injection supplies, food safety, and health literacy may influence the risk, presentation, and outcomes of GI diseases, and identify opportunities to address these determinants in clinical practice.
