syndrome of hematuria at the END of urination
evidenced by spotting of blood in underwear
occurs only in boys
may last up to a year or longer
symptoms are usually intermittent and recurrent
physical examination is normal
renal ultrasound usually helps rule out structural anomalies, but will usually be normal
self-limited, with no specific therapy other than reassurance
